Dear Parents and Carers,
I am Moira Lloyd and I’m pleased to have recently taken up the role of Chair of the Local Governing Body, here at New Siblands School, part of the Enable Trust family of schools. I have been a Governor since 2020, and have also had the privilege of supporting the school community through my previous work as an Educational Psychologist for several years. Until March 2024, I worked part time delivering autism workshops for parents, carers and staff in Bristol, and I firmly believe in the importance of close, effective partnership working between parents and school.
I am fortunate to be part of a highly committed and skilled team, currently of 8 Governors, which includes 3 members of staff and one parent (hopefully soon to be joined by another). As Governors, we work closely with all members of staff to ensure that pupils feel safe, valued, and receive the appropriate support and level of challenge to develop their potential. Through our monitoring systems, school visits and termly meetings, we seek to ensure that the Vision and Ethos of the school is being manifested. We provide a level of scrutiny, ask lots of questions, and also celebrate the many successes we see in school on every visit.
If you would like any further information about the work of the Governors, please do not hesitate to contact me via the school office.
